The NBC sketch show - currently celebrating its milestone - is the subject of the documentary Live From New York! , which will open the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival on April 15, it was announced Thursday. The doc, directed by Bao Nguyen and produced by JL Pomeroy and Tom Broecker , explores the early years and evolution of Lorne Michaels ' comedy institution, complete with archival footage and commentary from past and present cast members, journalists, hosts and crew, among others.
