Batard, the Tribeca restaurant opened last year by prominent restaurateur and longtime Ridgewood resident Drew Nieporent , has won a national honor. It was named "Best New Restaurant" at Monday's James Beard Awards, which are the culinary industry's equivalent of the Oscars.
