Veteran standup comedian Drew Hastings has won a second four-year term in the city of some 6,600 people about 60 miles east of Cincinnati. Unofficial totals from Tuesday's election show Hastings with 1,027 votes, or 59 percent.

Philadelphia congressman's son convicted of fraud charges

Chaka Fattah Jr. was convicted Thursday of 22 of 23 counts that he misspent loans and some of the nearly $1 million in education funds he got as a school management subcontractor. Fattah, who represented himself, contended the government built its case on a "deck of cards."

Woman who held disabled people captive gets life in prison

A woman who admitted she kept mentally disabled adults captive in the basement of a home in Philadelphia and in other states for their disability checks has been sentenced to life in prison. U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe responded that a lot of people in the courtroom know what happened, too.

Shooter in Colorado rampage legally purchased guns

Authorities say a man who killed three people during a rampage in Colorado Springs was armed with three guns he purchased legally six years earlier. The El Paso County sheriff's office said Thursday that 33-year-old Noah Harpham had an AR-15 rifle, a 9 mm pistol and a .357 revolver when officers fatally shot him Saturday.

TBS to launch Rashida Jones comedy with a 10-episode blast

Starring Rashida Jones, the zany police procedural will let viewers binge-watch its entire first season by airing all 10 half-hour episodes from start to finish not once, but five times in a row, commercial-free. This 25-hour marathon begins Sunday, Jan. 17. Then on Monday, Jan. 25, TBS will begin rolling out what it calls the series' "second" season - 10 more half-hours that will air weekly.

Jason Aldean's music back on Spotify a year after removal

Country music's top digital male artist Jason Aldean has returned to Spotify a year after pulling out of the streaming service over concerns about fair compensation. On Wednesday night, Aldean's six albums were available for streaming, including his platinum-selling 2014 release, "Old Boots, New Dirt."
